PIPRA's CE-certified, AI-powered software accurately predicts which patients are at risk of developing Postoperative Delirium. An explanatory in-depth budget impact analysis showed that this can potentially save an average public hospital 2.2M CHF (2MEuro) annually by reducing the length of stay and improving patient outcomes. Meet the Winner of The Primary Care Award 2023: PIPRA AG from Switzerland PIPRA AG ’s team has developed a pre-operative risk prediction tool to identify patients at risk for Postoperative delirium (POD) that will provide clinicians with an objective risk score that can be discussed with patients and families, allowing a clearer communication of the risk and benefits of the proposed surgical intervention.Data from over 20,000 patients from over 20 clinical trials around the world were used to develop and validate the POD risk prediction algorithm which was then integrated with a browser-based and platform-independent user interface: the PIPRA tool. It can be incorporated into all modern hospital record systems.The idea is to empower patients and their families who will be able to give truly informed consent.An explanatory in-depth budget impact analysis showed that this can potentially save an average public hospital in Switzerland 2.2M CHF (2M Euro) annually by reducing the length of stay and improving patient outcomes. Two pilot projects have been completed in Switzerland and validated the usability of the software in the clinical setting.
